The Healthy School: The elementary school in Krivan has been since 1.9.1998 a part of the national network of school in Slovakia which support health. The aims of the project are:

a primary prevention of dependence on alcohol and other drugs the humanization of the educational process a encouragement of an active relationship of children towards the environment

DON'T DESTROY YOUR WISE BODY - This is an all-day activity for all children of our school. The ideology behind is the prevention of drug dependence and the acquirement of habits of healthy life style. It is organized in form of learning by experience, expression by art, sport activities, competitions, discussions with relevant experts (psychologist, GP, police officers...).

POLANA HIKE - The aim is to enable children under the guidance of environmentalists to become better acquainted with their home environment, to learn to protect the natural beauty of the region, be aware of the current state of their environment and to experience physical activities in nature as a part of healthy lifestyle.

NIGHTINGLE 1998 - On 13.5.1998 the district round of the singing competition "Nightingale '98" took place in the Krivan's Cultural Centre.

MEET A FAIRYTALE -The goal is to use the fairy tales to encourage the children's creativity, imagination and aesthetic feeling. Also they serve to widen the communicational abilities and to deepen the children's relation to the values respected and cherished by our grandparents.

MATHEMATICS AS A GAME - This project is designed to encourage creative and lateral thinking while solving various problems, puzzles and though labyrinths.

Creative workshops - These workshops are organized each year at Christmas and Easter. Consequently, the products are exhibited at the Zvolen castle.

Christmas Academy - school dance group, songs by the school choir, sketches by drama group,...

Recycling of used materials - A big collection of used materials takes place each April in cooperation with parents and local shopkeepers.
