The fifties: The lessons take
place again in two classrooms in one building. From January 1951
the alternating teaching, that is, some years are taught in
the morning, others in the afternoon was introduced. In this
year, the final exams for the leavers of the secondary
school are introduced for the first time. In the schoolyear 1951/52
first 23 pupils "became pioneer". From this year
on, the teaching again takes place in three classrooms. |

According to the decree from 24.6.1953
about the "New school reform" the secondary and
people's school was transformed into the "Eight-year
secondary school." The teaching in 1.-5.years was
guided by the principles of a three-classroom people's
school, in 6.-8. years observed the rules of a secondary
school. The number of pupils increased to 204. The lessons
took place even in four buildings. On 1st September 1954
the Eight-year secondary school in Krivan was closed.
Despite of that, the teaching started again in all 8 years.
In this year, a water-piping system was installed in the
school.The National four-classroom school is opened in the
school year 1955/56 which is moved into the Jednota
building, where it had 3 classrooms and a staff-room. The
teaching takes place only in the morning. From the school
year 1956/57 the lessons take place in two building.
Pupils take each year part in the compulsory works. |
The sixties: At the beginning
of the sixties, the teaching is still taking place in five
classrooms, two buildings and in the morning as well as in
the afternoon. In 1961 began the preparatory works
for a new school building on which participated parents,
pupils and teachers. The works on the present building of
the Elementary school in Krivan began on 1st August 1962
and approved on 31st August 1963. The building of the
gym and school dining hall were finished during the school
year 1963/64.( the first lessons began on 1st
September 1964). On 1st September 1963 a fully
functional Elementary nine-year school was opened in Krivan.
The new building held 277 pupils years 1-9 in nine
classrooms. The afternoon teaching was abolished. By the end
of the sixties the sport grounds around the school were
finished, as well as a general arrangement of the school
grounds. |
