The school building was damaged during the
World War 2 and thus the beginning of the school year was
postponed until the 13.9.1945. After this time, some lessons
took place in one room of the director's flat. The pupils
were again divided into three classrooms. The after-war
period was marked by continuous repairing works on the
school building. In 1947 an official request was made asking
for adding either a superstructure or an annexe for another
three classrooms. From 1948 the notoriously known system of
five-year planning was also introduced in the educational
system. It was designed to increase the effectiveness of
work and stimulate the competitiveness of pupils as well as
teachers. On 15th April 1949 a Secondary school in
Detva-Krivan was established. By a decree of of the Slovak
National Council all schools came under the state control.
The school was therefore renamed to the State people's
school. |
