The seventies: From 1st September
1976 the 5th year of the Elementary nine-year school in
Detva-Piest II was affiliated to the Krivan school as a part of
the integration program. By the 1st September 1977 a specialized
classroom for chemistry and physics was established. Because of
the lack of teaching room the building of a new teaching pavilion
for the years 1.-4. began on 7th February 1977.
The building was opened on 4th November 1977
and at the beginning of November the lessons began. The years
5.-9. of the Elementary nine-year school in Korytarky were
affiliated to the school in Krivan in the school year 1978/79,
again as a part of the integration program. Consequently, the
number of pupils, classrooms and teaches increased.
The eighties: At the beginning of
the eighties the school access roads, main pavements and yards of
the school were asphalted. In the school year 1982/83, the ninth
year was not opened because of the lack of pupils. The school
established a friendship with a Czech elementary school in
Sumavske Hostice.
The nineties until the present: 27.5.1995
the Elementary school in Krivan celebrated 100th anniversary of
the foundation of the first school in Krivan. A memorial plaque
referring to this event was uncovered by the then minister of
education Eva Slavkovska.
In 1995 the school gained a gas
supply. Currently there are three buildings designed for teaching
and a dining hall in the school area. The pavilion for
years1-4 contains four classrooms. After the lessons, these rooms
are used for organized after school activities. The building for
years 5-9 contains 8 classrooms. There are 254 pupils and 20
teachers. The school-ground well-taken care for. It is beautified
by greenery, park, flower beds and a rockery.
